Need advice

Hello people
I'm new to welding. A few days ago I bought the spot welding device.
I need to weld 3mm twigs on each other.
I ran into a problem: after each welding a piece of steel wire is glued to the upper copper contact of the device,
so every time I have to remove it by means of a file
how to solve the problem?

Too much power and pressure I imagine. Try a bit less of both. Make sure all the steel is removed and the tips are back to good clean copper before you try again.

Make sure both electrodes (tips) have the same profile to balance the current flowing through them.

Keep tips profiled, clean & Cool if small unit, our panel beaters used to dip the arms in water.
I used to go mad

the upper electrode has conic profile, while another one has flat profile

Either make them both flat which will increase the power required but won't indent the wires too much or both conical uses less power but will leave a slight depression on the wires.

Shame they look like solid electrodes (no caps) or I would suggest a spare set and having them matched.
