I managed to get refinishing systems to add the epoxy thinners to their website today

Hi Richie mate, Yeah stupid thing is, when I phoned a couple of weeks ago and told them he said "No worries I'll take the order on the phone" then if you remember the conversation went to him saying the epoxy was not Isso free. So after you proved it was I thought well there is no point in going on the net I might as well phone straight away, so I phoned and got a very snappy arrogant individual who asked if I was collecting or mail order, I said mail order and the sharp retort was "well you have to use the web then"
I said well I would love to but what I want you haven't got on the web, "What's that" came the reply i need the thinners to go with the order of your Body epoxy Primer I replied. "Hang on." three minutes later " Right! it will be on there in five minutes" To be honest I felt like saying well if this is how you speak to your customers I will get it somewhere else, but I don't know anywhere else that stocks it ;D
Why do people have to be such ah's is there no politeness anymore, especially in business, people speak to you these days as if they are doing you a favour taking your money

Very disappointing. The people I have spoken to have all been fine.

Yeah, the first time I phoned I got the impression I was talking to an older person and he seemed very pleasant, but this young man was very blunt and sharp. I have spent hours searching for paint factors and car paint suppliers on the net and going through their websites to see if they sell epoxy, it would appear not many do

That's because Epoxy is usually known as a commercial/industrial coating, not many auto painters have even heard of it because its just another expense for them on a daily car, they probably won't see it again.
Hi mate, yes that's very true, there is no way the manufacturer is going to pay the cost of epoxy priming a car when the result would be that it would last longer and reduce their sales. But you would think in the refinishing arena it would be popular because it appears to seal and prevent reactions with whatever is under it and it can be bought cheaper than barcoat

Daily painters won't really have the kind of problems we encounter, they know what they are doing
It's just another expense really and the factory didn't put it on why should they ?

I've used Safeguard before, through ebay. The paint was well packed and arrived quickly. Good price too. They only do Jotun epoxy though, which is not as good I think for car bodywork as the HB Body and Lechler epoxies, as it's thicker.
I use www.paint4u.com. They have exoxy. Just type it into their search box as I can never find it in the index on the left of the screen.
Thanks MG, yes I saw that, they do the Lechler under their own name I think and you have to buy the hardener and thinners seperate, the hardener comes with the epoxy from refinish systems and I think it works out a bit cheaper. Plus they have been saying the out of stock thinners will be in stock in two or three days for over a week now.
