Made this box tonight out of 3mm Ally. This is my first nice tigged aluminium project and of course I was very proud of it so showed it to Mrs..." shift out of the way of the tv"!

Very nice box, is it a part of something or just for practice?

Bit of both. Its an enclosure for the motor electrics on my Rapidor hacksaw. The old one was a mem three phase unit and no good for single phase. I have plenty of ali sheet off cuts so I thought it would be good practice for when I fabricate the fuel tank for my 7 road/track car.
When its mounted in the saw you wont see it so I didn't mind if it turned out like bird poo.

ooooer dont meet my other half then saying that ...

we went on a visit to a f1 gearbox factory and she wanted one of the crown wheels to take home...

This is the one that let me keep a racing car engine under the dining table, and likes swarf curls as ornaments...

not all women are the same...


She is the only one in the household that has been on welding course!
