depends on your machine. so the answer is either Yes or No. I guess that it's not already Euro torch compatible so I'd guess yes

cheers. have found a few 'universal' connectors on the bay. they all claim to accept all makes of euro torch, and from the dimensions some of them give they will fit my welder.

will PM weld equip any way and see what he says.

Ditto on contacting weldequip - Steve is extremely helpful.

Did you post (I may have missed it) the make and model of your welder? Reason I ask is that some (like my SIP) present the gas all the way up to the torch, and a pretty basic switch in the torch lets the gas out of the shroud when depressed.

Eurotorches (I think) have a wide open gas flow down the flex and out the shroud, hence the need for a gas solenoid back in the bowels of the welder. The torch switch completes an electrical connection that fires up the welding amperage and opens the gas solenoid, allowing the gas to flow into the torch flex.

Be grateful for any corrections but, in the off chance that I got it mainly right, this is why it's important to know the make and model when considering upgrading to a Eurotorch.

its a bit of a project involving upgrading a gasless mig to full gas. it currently has no gas lines at all, no diffuser in the torch, no solenoid, no option for fitting gas.

my plan is to get a euro torch and connector, get a solenoid valve (already ordered) and then put it all in, wire it all up and see if it works.

if it doesn't work then I will return it to strictly gasless and consider it a learning curve, but I have spent a bit of time looking inside the unit and I can see no electrical reason why it wont work.

The tricky bit is getting the wire guide tube (in the euroconnector socket) lined up and close to the feed rolls, so measure at least a dozen times before drilling any holes

Try to use industry standard size fittings for the gas piping as it will be cheaper and easier to get spares.

2 of the ones I have seen on ebay, fit in my existing torch hole and the wire guide lines up (made a little nylon replica using the provided dimensions)

am going to wait to see when I get paid from my new job starting next week (hopefully still paid weekly as its with the same company). only have to buy the torch and connector now, or may just buy a hobby torch of a gas model??
