Tig Welder

Stahlwerk ac/dc Tig Arc HF invertor Welder Pulse & Plasma cutter. 230v. 5 yrs warranty. Direct from German manufacturer for under £700 delivered. As they say too good to be true??? They also sell more basic models with without the plasma.
Is it worth a punt?, I have always found German stuff is usually decent at worst.

The Germans are the same as anyone else; they bring stuff in from China. I bought Nursy one of those garden benches that encircles a tree, from a German company (same price as the nearest thing I could find in the UK but the design is nicer); sure enough, although the packaging is labelled in German it says 'Made in China' - in English!
So I wouldn't be surprised if your TIG welder was Chinese, just with the German importer's name on it.

I thought that may be a possibility so I messaged them for confirmation that they are manufactured in Germany and not just assembled there, although it does state German manufactured. I also asked if the instructions and machine switch labels would be in English as I watched the tutorial video which was useless as it was in German.

Just had a look at the website, all their dedicated TIG units are identical to the Chinese JASIC units. Local Tool Sales in Blackburn Lancs regularly auction off returned 'spares or repair' machines on ebay, they are very fragile. I'd personally be looking for an R-tech.

Multi function machines i.e TIG and Plasma built in, are generally not highly praised.

It seems you are quite correct. Had a reply from Stahlwerk
who say that 'like most others' these are made in China but in their Stahlwerk factory. May be ok but R-tech seems favourite.
