I was wondering if anybody had experience with a firm that makes embossed metal I.D. plates? Not a big number needed, perhaps in the 100s.

The format is like a vehicle plate, with a name , space to stamp a serial no. Then a couple more lines for series and type. Size would be 80x40mm. Material soft ally.

It might be somewhere to make the dies, then do the stamping here.

Thanks, but not quite what we need. All these seem to be printed/etched. While what we are looking for is raised letters. Sample was a Citroen plate off an old van.

I did. But it is embossed plates we are looking for. I looked down a bit on Octo's link. Much of a muchness. Screen printing...seemed to be the norm.

Do you want the letters as a positive or negative relief?

Positive. The Van ID (predates VIN) had the Citroen name raised. And the type and model.It was just the serial no that was punched in, with the same sort of punches that one buys at ToolMart.
Part of the deal is the classic style, rather than the modern screen print/etch.
