There is not much difference in weight between the 151EN (EN types do both gas and gasless wire) and the 160TM. They are both rated at 150A output at the top. The 160 has a carrier plate for a medium size bottle, and nicer switches. It may have a slightly higher duty cycle at the top end, but this is mainly theoretical, as it would only amount to seconds rather than minutes. The one advantage of the 151EN is that is very portable when used with gasless wire: no cylinder to lug about. No problem wheeling a cylinder about at home, but often a pain when doing small jobs away, loading, securing, unloading, do they have a trolley over there or do we take one, Etc.

Thanks for the pic, it certainly looks like a nice machine. What size gas bottle to you use and so you use Co2 or a Co2/Argon mix (I was thinking of using the Co2/Argon so far).
That’s good to know and I wouldn’t be going for the 151EN though as just want a gas one. That’s a good point about the trolley as I was looking at getting/making one but I wouldn’t need one with the TM as like you say it has a carrier plate.
As its been confirmed that the 160TM will run happily on a 13amp house plug/socket I think this will be the one for me.

I'm using a small PD BOC Argon Shield Light bottle, but might go for a bigger bottle if need be.

Excellent thanks for the link, I will most likely go for that one aswell. Do they do the next size up for not much more? With the regulator that come with the 160TM fit with no problems?
Assuming the 'photo has loaded, This is my set up with my TM.
I can't get smaller bottles so have to manage with what's available.
As there are no doors on the garage, the mig gets put inside the house after every use, up four steps. It's awkward, but not impossible.
Looks good, thanks for posting a photo and I bet that bottle lasts a good while! Does the 160TM come with that blue mains plug as standard or did you fit it?

Yes the reg is fine with the PD bottles, bottle wise i'm not sure what the next size up is, I think there is a list on the BOC site.

arh1a, I fitted the blue mains plug and installed the extra wiring and heavy duty switch, though I suspect it was a bit overkill. But the local wiring and two pin outlets (sockets) are pretty flimsy and I didn't want to blow any thing up - it's not my house!
