weld pooling

hi guys this is my first post so be gentle.. just got a new welder, telwin combo 4.135.turbo i was using flux wire but i found it hard to see the weld and didn't like the finished look, so anyway i changed to 0.8 wire and argosheild but the trouble is i am getting lots of blobby pools and it looks awful, i am trying to weld up under the floor on my sons morris minor as he wants to give her a new lease of life, sorry to go on.
is there a setting issue or is it cos im welding overhead. thanks guys.

Firstly, I not an experienced pro - so wait for an answer from one of those guys (I imagine it would help if you post a clear photo or two if you can)

by the way, Is this your machine?...

The Spec sheet for that welder (http://www.telwin.com/webtelwin/prodotti.nsf/SchedaSinteticaInt?OpenForm&E|820005|) says it has a current range of 50-120amps....

If your minimum is 50amps, that would make it a little bit harder for you to weld thinner sheet steel like panels say < 1.5mm thick... (the last thing a newbie needs is a handicap)

That said, I suppose the floor is likely to be approx 1.5mm thick (or even a tad more?)....

Once you get some good advice, if you still have no luck try using a lighter wire - the 0.6 instead of 0.8.
It is generally considered a little easier to weld thin sheet with the lighter MIG wire (esp with single-phase welders which are not as "smooth" an arc)...
Don't forget the 0.6 tips if you get some 0.6 wire.

First of all dont worry about "going on". This is the place to sort these matters out. It could be because its an overhead weld ? Can you take any pictures as that is a big help? Dont worry about 'blobby welds' we all know that feeling and have been there ourselves. (indeed some of us still visit Mr Blobby from time to time)
You say you have a new welder, thats great. But are you a new welder too ? We need to know this stuff to help you easier. Not being able to "see" the weld often happens at first. Once you are more practiced in the art of the weld, you feel more confident to move about until you can get a better view of whats happening.
Also how thick is the metal you are welding, what sort of weld are you doing ? (lap weld. butt weld etc) If your welder can only go down to 50 amps that will make it harder for you as its a bit high, especially for butt welding. Maybe a lap would be easier.
Help us to help you and im sure we can sort it all out.

50 amps???? I'm not at all surprised you are having difficulties, for car stuff you really need something with a low setting of 30A or less.

thanks guys so ill try to answer as much as i can, i have done quite a lot off welding as i have been in to restoring cars for many years and i was using a cebora 130 turbo which was good for car stuff. that was my first welder and my first experience and i found it easier. we have lived in new Zealand now for 4 years and my sons morris failed on a bit of welding, so anyway i thought it would be a good excuse to get back in to welding. maybe its my machine i think. i will get some pics up as some as i find out how. it is the same 1 as in that pic but in blue. i have been thinking that its not gutsy enough but it seems from what ive read from the comments its to powerful ? thanks again i give u guys respect.

cheers 4 that i thought that my new welder didn't have the guts and was using it on 2 max, doh. i find the best way now, tell me if im wrong is to do fast overlaping spot welds but im not sure if that will pass its wof/ mot.. what do u think..

yup thats the one but mines blue, and i mite try the 6 wire but i splashed out on a large roll off 08 mm doh
