how reliable are c02 guage

i have a c02 single stage guage contents never show true contents of guage as i today got new bottle and showing only 60 bar and my last bottle similar sort of reading. could the guage be faulty or is it know for c02 not to give a true reading. thought id ask before i buy another guage ta

CO2 is stored as a liquid so your 60 bar will be OK. It will stay constant until all the liquid has boiled off and then drop like a stone when there is only gas left in the bottle.

thanks for quick reply and the understanding of the liquid gas . so basicaly wait for the hiss to stop. now its a case waiting for the rain to stop so i can get out there and start welding

You should be able to tell how much CO2 remains from the weight of the cylinder
