Mig Gas set up

Hi All,

I've bought a Mighty Mig 150 which I have used for a couple of jobs on my 1972 VW camper.

I've been using it on the Gassless setting and the welds are not coming out very well. I've bitten the bullet and bought an ALBee rent free argon/CO2 gas bottle and have set the welder to be ready for taking gas.

The only problem seems to be finding the correct coupling for the hose. The gas bottle has the below quick connection on with an threaded OD of 16mm. I cannot find what connectors I need to use. Any ideas?

Moved to the correct section.

You need one of these without the regulator, your gas pipe pushes into the loose end and the nut that's screwed onto the regulator in that pic just screws onto your QC.

Send Weldequip a message and I'm sure he will be able to sort you out with one.

You need a regulator tail to fit in the end of the welder gas pipe and screw to the Albee fitting. Like this on ebay.

Even better, you have the large bore pipe already, I was assuming you had the small bore one that fits the dispoable cylinder regs.
As Pedro says, that hose tail just pushes into your hose and needs securing with a clip.

I'm still struggling to find the right connector. The thread seems to be 5/8 inch and the hose currently connected to the welder is 5mm ID

is it not just a 3/8 BSP RHT as found on any normal reg ?

These BSP thread sizes are confusing.

A 3/8" male thread actually measures 16.6mm outside diameter.

So the one Pedrobedro gave you the link for is the correct thread size, the same seller sells them with varying tail sizes to suit rubber hoses of different sizes.

Make sure you choose the one with a RH nut.
