Finally got a lathe - really cheap!

I've wanted one for so long but not been able to fund it, and I wasn't seriously expecting to get it at the price I bid, so to get it for this price was a surprise to say the least!

your going to need a big van if all the cupboards are part of by the looks of it

price is good but it all depends on how much play is on the bed etc

nice one - was looking at that, but a bit far out for me.
good lathes can go for silly cheap money on the bay, sometimes.
Especially if they are collection only, and off the beaten track,
or not overloaded with extras

Well, I'm not sure if the cupboards are mine - I've asked the seller. They'll go in my discovery anyway. I was kind of under the impression at first that it was just the lathe, but I need to get it clarified!

Even if it's a lemon, I don't think I could lose money on it at that price

I just want to get in to lathe'ing, and I'm hoping this will be a good start

Very similar to a Myford for about a quarter of the price!

Even if it hasnt got a full set of cange wheels you should find that Myford ones wil fit as well as a lot of other Myford accessories.

Any excessive bed wear shouldnt be to much of a problem to sort seeing as it's simple flat ways it's a cheap regrind.

Cheers I've got the book. Very good stuff. Originally printed in 1948, so pretty modern compared to the design of the ml2/ml4 haha

Yes, the Myford compatibility was a huge factor for me. I'll probably just buy change wheels piecemeal when I find I need a certain thread etc

If the bed is knackered, I might try hand scraping it and see how much it is just to harden it
