Clarke 170T liner - advice needed.

I have just bought a very little used clarke 170T spares or repair. All seems well so far - wire feed motor turns, there is a spark etc.

The liner however seem clogged up and the wire will not travel up it.

When I came to dismantle the torch to get the liner out, i had a surprise. It is crimped together.

My previous experience is with hobby migs which have separate connections for gas and wire. Just how do I get into this? And if I need a whole new torch is a eurotorch the way to go? Can't find anything on the internet anywhere, and the manual is no help.

The tourch looks a lot like the one that came with my very old Clarke (1980's) but that is a euro tourch. The swan neck and switch you have there does look the same though. Note the two swan necks shown are of the orignal and a replacement I bought from MM but thread was wrong so I had to recut thread from 10mm to 8mm (luckly had dies for this) I think you will find that your swan neck is screwed in not held with a grub screw as there is no gas valve in handle.
Might be a silly question but are you sure yours is not a euro tourch?

Well, that is good if so.

Just where do I split the torch?

The brass union immediately under the tip may (or may not) be soldered tight - certainly doesn't move apart with 'reasonable force' - so does it split where the two nuts are?

I did a swan neck change thread here hope link works! if it is a Eurotorch, you change the liner from the other end.
