Hi,
I heard some years ago that if someone was wearing contact lenses than an arc could 'weld' the lens to the eye...
is this an old wives tale?
I was also told that as I wear galsses that I should never get arc-eye, the lens would stop it...
but as I've got older I now find I need to take my glasses off for close work!
Regards
Peter
I don't think UV goes through glass (hence you can't get sunburn in the hoose), so no worries

UV does go through glass.
Many windows do have a UV coating so UV from the sun does not fade carpets and furniture.

They were sailing at five oclock so Im assuming they sank that night after ploughing into a on comeing craft when all members contracted arc eye......Ah, another one, why do people not believe the 'wet paint' sign? They just HAVE to touch it.![]()

Same happened last week! The workshop nugget was grinding off some protruding M16 stud with a 4 1/2" grinder. Red hot it was. He had cut almost all the way through, stopped, then used his fingers to try and snap it off. MMM The smell of burning skin.
Sure, people have to learn, but he did the same the previous week.!!!
