Every one of my chain saws has this. It's a function of the number of links in the chain, which is a function of the bar length. It's also handy when sharpening, you know when you've been round once!
It's common with an even number of teeth and links, it sounds like lack of maintenance as above. Sharpen the chain, turn the bar over and refit it with the tension set so you can't lift the guides out of the bar. I've seen quite a few like that - that's where the chain was riveted and if you add or remove a link to get it even it'll be one tooth too long or too short.
I've always found a curved cut is caused by either poor sharpening or a blunt chain being forced
