Well done! Be careful with it as even a small lathe is capable of causing you a lot of harm. Use oil, not grease to lube the slideways and don't use an angle grinder on stuff in the chuck, the dust will eat away the lathe bed.
Oh and - in before the chorus - NEVER leave the chuck key in the chuck!

Surely you need to do it once to learn like most of us have... Then you know never to do it again
Have fun with it, wish I had the space for a lathe rather than having to pop and use other peoples

I've got one of those clarke lathes but with the mill head(never use the mill)
bought it several years back from a mate who wanted some cash sharpish.
Invaluble for all those little one off parts and generally making stuff fit that wouldn't without having a lathe,
Got a few mates that have larger lathes but you cant beat having one at home.

A good idea is to fit a coil spring around the shaft of your chuck key.
Then you will never forget your chuck key in the chuck as it will always spring out once you remove your hand from it

I'd get hold of a Presto Counsellor booklet first, they are free, and have far more relvant information to the novice, and professional alike. Only down side is they are not laminated, but since they are free, it matters little
edit you can even get it in PDF
