What does this do exactly.just got mine running again now,so thanks to all those who pointed me in the right direction.

probably a bit of wd40 on the shaft where it slidesWhat did you do to get it going in the end then.

hitting it with a hammer, I just turn the chuck by hand an off it goes
its like its owner really ceases up after a little period of inactivity
