I used to have a CNC Turret Punch and the Dies used in that had the holes with a very fine taper to allow the Slug to pass once its punched, these are normally done under very fine conditions using a spark eroder, But if you fine yourself having to manufacturer a die, say for a Fly press, then you could use this to check the amount of taper your hole has,
You just lay it on top and make sure the arm is flush with the sides and then read the angle on the block
the reading is very fine, each one of those large marks is probably 1 degree
