thanks,very detailed-but how do i interpret that into a static load in kg?

I was told at college you can JUST hang a tonne on an m6 bolt. But nothing to go by and don't try it.

Convert kn to kg force by multiplying the force in kn by 101.97
so from the first line of the top chart for example, M10 bolt in shear has a capacity of 9.3kn x 101.97 = 948.3 kg
there's a bit more to it than that but I guess this is near enough for your purpose.
