I have a german manual, worst comes to worst I can translate it.

Likely your message has been eaten by a spamkiller and he's not seen it, so perhaps resend or give him a phone instead.
Fair enough if your german is up to it; mine isn't so I'd be tempted to scan the manual, bung it through OCR software and then see what Google Translate makes of it. It won't be perfect, but manual error checking is a lot less laborious than doing the whole thing yourself.
Yeap, fired him off another email, no rush for it but it would be nice to have.
Yes, I would be doing it that way, far quicker than manual translation plus the fact that I studied french at school, not that I remember much
