These parts are so cheap, and oxy-fuel is probably the most dangerous thing in the workshop, I wonder why anyone would penny-pinch when it comes to correct set-up.

agreed I bought oxy/propane kit which included regs,hoses,flashbacks and a torch for £125 on eBay , I reckon worst case senario in a residential area a bottle explosion might take out 2 to 3 houses maybe more, some things might be worth taking the **** out of but not bottles for me

2 right he will good quality grenade witt resettable flashback arrestors and a saphire fn50 welding and cutting torch spare new hoses and new blowpipe nozzles and all bought for 15 quid from new

"Bargain". The FN50 was never so great (stainless steel needle valve to an aluminium seat - so they never shut off properly with age!), but the WITT's are as good as they get; just bear in mind the regs - keep those 'who must be obeyed' happy

all i can say to anyone buying the gear or using it is inspect the hoses and fittings .slacken off the regulators to zero when finished purge the pipes. i test the flashbacks a few times a year by filling the pipes and slacken the arestors off and they will trip due to backflow in pressure then reset them. take the check valves of now and then make sure they dont leak . bottles are stored in a tin garage away from anything flamable . used correctly and there quite safe
