eastwood 200amp ac/dc tig... any good?

I'm guessing from the price it will be a Chinese machine? but I'm under the impression frost' have a good reputation so wouldn't sell junk...

I've no experience of using that particular kit, but I reckon you would probably manage to get a 'shop soiled' 160A R-Tech for that price. I know which I'd prefer

That's DC only though, the Frost is AC as well. It's got no pulse but 3 years warranty is good if they honour it.

I was recently brousing the spec on the Eastwood welder,
Fine if you always use a foot pedal but there doesn't appear to be any slope in/out control for when using the torch trigger?

It has adjustable ac balance but frequency fixed at 60hz,
And yes 12 months warranty but 3years if bought in the US?

Strange as Frost honour the 3year warranty on the Eastwood plasma?

Regardless of reputation Frost and Eastwood are (for the most part at least) movers of Chinese boxes i.e. pretty much guarenteed to get none, or next to none, tech backup

hmm... if this is just another chinese TIG with little or no backup i might be better off buying a £350 tig off ebay (the yellow ones..) and accepting it might need a repair or two....

i would certainly just bite the bullet and get the Rtech machine... tbh this eastwood looks a lot more tacky, no point buying this then realising that you need all the extra capabilities the Rtech offers and have to get that aswell..
