Where to find free oil drums?

Does anyone know where. Might be able to get my hands on used and free oil drums?

They are on eBay for 10 quid a pop but surely there must be somewhere to grab some for zero monies.

Try local garages, when i built a raft i got all the barrels from local garages.

Take a drive round the industrial estates, and just ask Especial on a saturday morning

Do you know any farmers?
there are always 50 gallon barrels kicking round the farm where I have my workshop.
They are great for collecting my scrap and offcuts, chop the top off using oxyacetylene* slit a few holes around the bottom for water drainage and a pair of bigger holes opposite each other at the top. When it's full pick it up on the farm forklift and off it goes to be weighed in. Takes me about 10 months to fill one.
