Don't think I asked on here when I first went looking for them but seeing the gun-run mentioned in the nasty accidents thread has reminded me.......
I remember watching either a Tattoo or Tournament on the TV when I was somewhat younger and one of the events similar to the gun-run involved a pair of Land-Rovers (one red and one blue). Obviously modified somewhat. The concept was fairly similar to the gun-run in that they would drive into the arena and up to the start line. When the start signal was given they would drive a short distance before piling out of the vehicle and pulling it apart. It was then manhandled over under and through various obstacles before being re-assembled and driven to the finish line.
Does anyone else remember this. I've dug around un-successfully on the web for info. Maybe it was a very short lived event and just run at the one venue but I didn't think it would have made such an impression on me if I'd only seen it once.
