Digital or the anologue is a better choice?

Digital gear is alright, providing you take care of it.
I use a basic one at work, probably a bit more forgiving to the odd drop and spray of sparks.

I have both, horses for coarses. i use the digi for working out angles to either bend or cope tube, as I can directly use this on the rotary encoder

I have one identical to that, paid twenty quid from Axminster just fitted with a different sticker. Useful tool.
