Ok lads, heres initial look on a Pow..*cough-cough*..ft 130 mig welder
I know, they have lots of poo ratings here, but has anyone seen inside of one?
I bought for £50 for the purpose of quickly tacking things together rather than fiddling with small things and using one hand to strike an arc with the arc welder.
It does that job fine.. Its only ever had 2/3rds of the original wire spool through it, the previous owner used it to repair an classic car.
Yes the wire is poo (gasless) much like cheapo arc rods, so i'm about to purchase some sifmig wire from weldequip.
The wire feed is great, and i've fine tuned it to slip the wire before it birdnests inside the unit. Its like new. 7 new 1mm tips and all the instructions included.
I opened the unit to be surprised it was a DC unit...I only opened one side and saw a large rectifier but the other side i havent opened yet.. perhaps theres options to convert to gas with a polarity change inside.
Heres two pics. Welds from the poo wire will commence later on..
