multiprocess machine

Hello Folk, I'm new here and a newbie in the welding field.

Just some info and advice : I was thinking to pick up a multiprocess machine to simplify working @ the building site, cutting & welding steel beams, repairing pipes and fixing aluminum frame.

Looking around I've found something interesting on a german estore.
It's the LCD DIVISION MULTI PROCESS 205 ACDC, below the link

Isn't it any good ?...could work fine ?....any feedback about the company ?

That pedal looks to be horrifically uncomfortable to use- you'd need one leg to be 6" shorter than the other and maybe even a double jointed ankle going by the jaunty angle of the thing.

Those machines are available in various different colours with various different brand names stuck on 'em. AFAIK they're all generic cheapnese and i don't think i've ever heard a nice word said about them i.e. they're generally held in low regard even by fans of cheapnese tat. Also worth remembering that while a multifunction machine is convenient if/when it breaks you're screwed as you effectively lose 3 or 4 machines not just one

Thanks much!!...so do you think it's much more convenient to buy several single process...could you suggest any company with affordable retail price ? ...I'm quite outside of this field

Sorry, i've no idea what (if any) budget brands are trustworthy in Italy. The usual suspects in the UK are R-tech, they look exactly the same as generic cheapnese tat but importantly the company believes in things like customer service and the fact they started out in welding equipment repair and service doesn't hurt. I'm pretty sure they've stayed well clear of those multiprocess machines.

More international brands would include Thermal Arc at the cheaper end of things but prices will still be a lot higher. Selco is another name that comes to mind, not so well known in the UK being an Italian manufacturer but AFAIK they are well respected (some Lincoln Electric kit is made by/based on their stuff i think- not sure of the exact connection)
