Evening all,
It's a long time since I've been on here, nice to see it's as active as always.
I'm currently restoring a 1954 Land Rover, at the moment I'm dealing with the tin worm but at some point I'm going to have to deal with the body that looks like it's been attacked with a shotgun at some point
As some of you will know the body on a series 1 was formed from Birmabright, from what I've read this was an alloy of aluminium with typicaly 2 or 3% magnesium.
I've got to the stage where I'm ok (for a muppet) at Tig welding thin aluminium but I haven't a clue if the magnesium in the mix is going to make a difference or not.
Any ideas chaps?
Cheers,
Mick.
