A vast improvement on the first one candyman I didn't want to say anything for fear of sounding rude, but its a great job, still have mine to make

I wonder if i might try to make something alongs the lines of small block pavers like this

I wonder if i use some concrete colouring in the mix and finish off with some sort of sealer, if i would get a half decent end result, the outside edges would be the row of blocks but the top and bottom will be indivual blocks so the the next row will look seemless??

Another point would be how to make the edges of the block seem natural instead of striaght could i grand and the sand smooth the edges of the bar so it looks like natural block shapes??

the only problems with the pattern imprinted stuff is it's coated in a resin to finish it off and it's damm slippy when wet you can get the moulds but not cheap don't think it would hold up to having a trolly jack axle stands etc dragged about on it

please excuse the lack of time and effort that went into this drawing,but a little extra effort on the design could add a lot of character.just expand this idea further

OK i grinded of the weld of my mould it sprang back to straight great i thought re welded all going swiming-lee now the frame is straight it sprang back about 2mm on each side , thought then handles as welder paul suggested great done that it's bowed again is this normal ? it's no were near as it was befor it would not notice on the concrete just wondering if this happens to steel anyway painted looks Bloody good as a brother to my prototype

Composimmonite yes very easy to make the first site the fiat spacers easy to make
the second gosh just saw the price on one imprint $1375 for royal slate dec good idea tho but i think i will stick to my £13 frame good ideas like it

The old favourite...distortion. Worst with thin/light section. Clamp it to something solid prior to welding to reduce the effect and prebend if necessary i.e bend back the opposite way so when it cools it will be straight.

Rrrrrr I didn't do that so if I clamp it to the bench and leave it clamped till till it cools that would stop it distorting thanks for that tip.

You mean as in making it look like there are mortar lines along the outer edge? Run a bead of weld on the frame for the seams, or use a pointing trowel and add them manually when you remove the mold would be my first thoughts.

Hi ludemon I did think of making these and selling them but didn't have many request so I didn't think it was worth it ive made 2 moulds and both work great I didn't put handles on them cos I wanted to have a ruff brushed levelled finish it cost me a total of £13 I think it was + weld I had the welder many years ago as I wanted to make car ramps to my spec than standard , I was going to sell the path moulds for £25 but never got round to making them for selling
So as fore making them it all depends on we're u live and so on

Sorry that I have been so long in responding candymanm3. Well I would be interested in a pathway mould. I am located near Exeter, but I guess a courier like Hermes would deliver them if wrapped in enough cardboard to attach an address label.

If you want to do a driveway then I would suggest making the mould differently as you will probably want a thicker slab, for larger areas you can lay a slab and then make an impression stamp to put the pattern on, it means making it in 2 parts (the outer shuttering for the slab and then the pattern bars) but it allows you to make bigger moulds to cover areas, also you can make multiple shutters and space them out and use a single pattern on them to cover more area quickly

Hi yes I understand but the mould I have maid 50cm depth will take the weight of a car I no it's suppose to be min of 100mm (4") I left it for 2 weeks befor driving on it and used uni bond in the mix as long as u got a good under base , I dont no if it will crack in future but time will tell , I quess the mould I have made is only good for walking on so good luck

Nice to see that my mold generated such interest.
I never intended to sell this, only to inspire others in building it for themselves. After all, it's DIY site...
Would love to see end results of anyone's finished path...
