the tip seem to be fine and the wire seems to move freely through it ive have tryed changing it but it makes no difference locks like im going back on to 0.8 wire again as this doesnt seem to be works
could it be by any chance the quality of the wire thats causeing the problem ie to soft i dont know much about quality of difrent wire but who knows just thout it might be worth a mention ian
thats what i was thinking but i was not very cheap i brought it from boc and if i remeber right it cost about £50 but im not going to mess about any more im going back to 0.8 wire
Does the wire weld to the tip whilst you are welding, arc slowly moves up the wire to the tip. Or is the wire bunching stopping the weld. When i was using 0.6 wire i had to increase the wire speed alot from what i was using on 0.8. Is the feed roller in line with the tube? seems stupid i know but i think it will be something silly.
As Malcom said try using a 0.8 tip to see if that cures it.
its cured been welding for 20 mins no problems so fingers crossed it must have been the tips after all thanks every one for you help this is a great forum thanks again
Excellent news. Could well be a doubtful bag of 0.6mm tips. I had some suspect ones for my Clarke once that would overheat especially when the tip was close to the workpiece and I was on low wire speed. There shouldn't be a problem continuing to use the 0.8mm tips.
