Thoughts on this car jacking/ramps system?

Anyone got anything similar to this? Looks quite handy but not sure I am convinced on the safety side of things?

Looks a good deal safer than using axle stands. Similar locking system only two per corner, more stable with four legs and a base plate on each corner.

I must confess that they don't, but I could place an axle stand inside each one if needed.

My Seven is a flat bottomed car with virtually nothing to work on from underneath.
The stands are to get it up to a working height and save my back.

For instance; the diff is accessed from inside the boot, the prop & gearbox by removal
of the top of the transmission tunnel. Even the sump plug is reached from the engine bay.

i think i would bend some steel to hook over the bottom axle / pivot that would catch if the threaded bar gave way

That's a good idea.
Maybe several hooks like a ratchet so as it goes up it clicks onto the next one

Thanks for the replies and good to see your solution Paul, they look smart.

If you were to make the ones in the video is there any particular grade of steel needed for the body of it and also for the pins that go through the legs?
Guessing the pins have to be something special due to the shear force on them

I'd be worried if the hand brake was faulty for there is no stop lip to stop the car rolling forward or back wards so you'd have to carefully think which wheel to start jacking up first .

The old fashioned drive on ramps made from welded angle iron are good . you can do all sorts of things with four of them that are 400 mm high .
The stackable ones are even better .

I've seen some that were screw operated to raise the platform and locked in place with half inch steel bars . You could use a power drill / air spanner to wind them up or a ratchet and socket if out in the sticks .
I have also see two part ramps that took the vehicle up to 30 inches high .

which lifts are you refering to the original posters youtube vid or the second with the ally plate ?
