What do you think of gases from China

Have you ever use gas products from China? What do you think of the product quality? I wonder whether you can give me your opinion. Thanks in advance.

Nobody uses gas from foreign countries, the cost of importing would be prohibitive.

Don't think you'll find any here, I've never heard of it at all and as rtbcomp says it'd cost too much shipping to be worth it, the major cost of gas isn't going to be labour after all, so bottling in china wouldn't make it cheaper...

We do "import" Acetylene from Europe until we get a manufacturing plant running again.

I'm sure boc ect are losing out on having to import acetylene though! And as fas as I was told by the boc dealer it only comes from france and Germany haha not far away.

Well i have used foreign gas...but that was acetylene from a carbide generator in the middle of nowhere in Sumatra, so i'm not sure it counts! For what its worth, it worked very well. :-)

Nope and as said i can't see how it'd be viable unless you were start up a filling plant over here which'd negate cost savings due to health and safety laws, worker pay etc. If they were to be shipped back and forth for refilling etc then i'm guessing that to make it work you'd need to be working with huge numbers like maybe Europe wide? Gas equipment standards vary by nation which'd at best complicate things. I've no interest in buying Chinese (or American etc) made regulators when i can buy a British made one that's both good quality and competetively priced. Why would i trust that gas equipment & cylinders (potential bombs) are made and tested properly or that say grade 4.6 argon really is grade 4.6 argon given what's happened with Chinese made drugs, petfoods, kids toys etc in recent years?

What do you think of the product quality? I wonder whether you can give me your opinion. Thanks in advance.

Can't comment about gases specifically but generalising i'd say it's lousy in that we're typically only offered cheap ****. When the quality is up there it obviously isn't as cheap in which case where possible/practical i'd rather support local manufacturing/business rather than another nations economy. Even if it means paying more.
