no, the blades are removed from machine and sharpened on the flat sideIs the idea to sharpen them without removing them from the machine ? The ones in your picture are scalloped and the best way to sharpen would be to flat grind them on the other side using something like the water bath bench grinder shown earlier with a guide of some kind or a very expensive Tormek system.
at the mo im using a flap disc "little and often" to avoid heating
but in stoney ground the blades will require more sharpening more often
there is a "proper" sharpener

the jig i made workes on the similar principle,but i would like to keep the heat down further if possible


but it doesn't matter one jot what type of disc is used if water is only being run over the blade being sharpened, not the grinder blade/disc, to draw away the heat?
