BOC Pay by cash?

Does anyone pay by cash for there BOC account?

If so did you fill out any bank details parts on the form?

when i went onto the volkzone offer via this site i called justin and paid by debit card never filled anything in he did it all over the phone now when i need a refill i pay cash when i pickup

I pay the rental by cheque and refills by card. I don't think i gave any bank details when initialy getting the bottles.

Ok, Just I have the form to sign and email back but didnt know if I had to fill the bank details part out even when paying by cash (or cheque even)..

Will just Email the form and see what they say..

Another thing I noticed was it said payment is Taken out yearly at the begining of the month that the account is opened. Does this mean Im going to loose like 21+ days / almost the full month (abit like how car tax works)??

I tried phoning but lines were busy so gave in as I had to go out.

i pay direct debit, never pay anything when i go in, just pick up the bottles, an invoice comes in the post and the money goes out of the account.

I was hoping they would do that sort of thing when i set mine up. Does that mean, if i get a bottle of gas say the 3rd of the month, they wont take the money out till the beginning of the next month ?

BOC Direct debits are normally taken on the 25th or the nearest working day in the following month, so if you exchanged a cylinder say on the 3rd June, you would receive an invoice at the end of June, and the payment would be taken 25th July

Brilliant, cant afford any gas at the mo and i'll need some for the next job, not much left so i guess i'll need some.

yep just like paul says money comes out the next month, though i've never really noticed what day haha.

But I think the rental is like Car Tax going by the terms I was sent... It said something like you are charged from the beginning of the month that you start the account / contract from.

So going by that if I start it now then thats 22 days lost (Like if I went to tax a car now I would loose them days) So Im waitng untill start of July..

What sort of price did Air Products work out at? If you have the number handy I could give them a call

£47 for x30 of coogar 5. There is two ways to pay the rental annual or day rate. I pay day rate and it's £116 for a full year but I only tend to have the bottle on hire for a couple of weeks hear and there Barry curr is the local rep 07801178369 easy to set up gave him a ring and the forms came through the post couple of days later. The depot is at the colour centre but the staff there a a bit hopeless!

I was with air products. They were charging me nearly £20 a month for rental. I changed to BOC last year and although I paid yearly it worked out at less than £9 a month.

There are now also rent free gas cylinders available from Hunters at Kingstown in Carlisle. That could work out cheaper for hobby users.

Yea Hunters seems a good buy but once you add 20% Vat onto all the prices it mounts up and I think BOC for £40 a year rent and £28 Refill it is a good option. Especially as the bottle is something like twice the size and filled at something like 230bar, You are getting something like 4x the amount of gas (which is 4 refills with Hunters)

Yeah that's what put me off the no rental option it's not as cheap as you think.

Somebody please explain the £40 rent and £28 refill with BOC in simple terms please I'm confused.

Just phone the BOC sales team on there main number (Not the BOC depo in Carlisle) and ask them to put you on the Volkzone Deal. Get them to confirm the costs first.

its a Y size bottle you get as well filled to 230bar or so and only £28 a refill. Theres no limit or minimum limit on refills as well. overall its a good deal

You can also have as many of the cylinders as you like at the same time by the sound of it when I was talking to them, they said that the deal was activated on the account and now any size y argoshield light I pick up would be at the volkszone prices.

I thought the rent you paid was for the bottle so you could only have one bottle at a time? To have 2 bottles you would need to pay another £40 a year on the 2nd bottle if you wanted 2 at a time??

yes every bottle would have rent, but you are not limited to 1 bottle by the sound of it, not saying you'd get 2 for the rent on one you'd have to pay rent on both but they'd both be at the lower rate
