Sand Paper - What brand

Can someone recommend me a good brand of sandpaper for car repair - i have read that 3m is the leader but is there any close 2nds etc

Also happy to put together custom bulk buy packs.
The stuff i bought is branded SIA and is better than the Bosch and Dewalt I was using before, especially the sanding belts.

I dont know how the expensive brands hold up but I've been using Klingspor for a long while now, compared to the real cheap stuff the back holds up for the life of the paper. I't does me so I have not even thought about using something expensive.

hi, use to use halfords wet and dry has gone very poor would not to be recomend as it even breakes up , some cheap brands are alot better. 3m seems ok have used before sometimes buy from a car body shop as they only use good stuff so it must be cost effective .cheers craig

I have packs of old stuff my grandad got when he serviced a courier's forklift and it was a broken pallet in the corner so he filled the van, i think its SIA brand i flatted down my motorbike tank inbetween coats on a single sheet, keep it wet and with a bit of soap its good stuff!

Yup Klingspor is very good but not so easy to pick up at paint suppliers I find

I'm quite shocked as I tend to go for the cheaper stuff but to see other find it decent. On ebay I pay about £5 for 10 full size sheets delivered but last time when I ordered a fair bit of various grades I had only one postage to pay so worked out around £4 for 10 sheets.

Sait Aluminium Oxide wet & dry paper in a grit range 60-600 is superb quality.You can get it in 5 metre roll form 115mm wide on ebay.The backing is latex impregnated & is strong & supple.Good for use wet or dry.I was in the trade for 40 years & have seen nothing to match that product.
