Gas uses argon or CO2 to protect the weld from air.
Gasless has flux in the wire that protects the weld as it burns.
Gasless is messy and hot for bodywork.
Gas is clean and allows thin wires to be used for low current work on thin metal.
Stainless can be welding with an appropriate gas and wire.

Hi mate, i would definatley not go with Wolf, just look at the prices, spend as much as you can, get what you pay for as always. A lot on use Clark as a good budget welder, i have had one for around 6 years, a 151TE, back then it was £260 now though they are £310`ish, i cant see a Wolf lasting that long and it has had some stick with the projects i have had from cars reapairs to building trailer and maiking bumpers for off roaders.
If you only want it for car repairs you could get a smaller Clark to get cost down a bit more.
