lazy tong riveter adjustment

Greetings,

just bought myself a lazy tong riveter, and I'm struggling to adjust it properly. It came very loose. the nozzle body screws in, and has a locking nut. It was all quite loose, and at the moment, it doesn't seem to grip very well. I have to pump it about 10 times before the rivet 'pops'. The bit in the middle that holds the three gripping teeth might also need adjusting. If I screw that in all the way, I don't seem to get any grip, and at the moment, the main nozzle body is screwed in quite loosely, which seems to be the only way I can get it working at all. Am I completely missing something? Has anyone got any general tips on how to adjust them?

It's a Silverline one.

Id take it back if you only just bought it.

I just cant get on with cheap riveters. Normally end up breaking the pivots or bending the handles

Well, I'm sure I can get it working with a bit more fiddling. don't want to send it back, I bought it on ebay. just a load of hassle

Stick a picture up if you can, always easier to offer advice when you can look at it, rather than going by a description.

Silverline isnt known for its quality.
