Earth Clamps

Do higher rated earth clamps of the croc type have a stronger spring / holding force, the one on our Lorch mig at work needs both hands to squeeze it open... my old one has seen better day and is rather week, I know i could buy a big brass screw type, but they soon get to be a PITA if having to keep repositioning them....any thought's advice.

the higher the amperage the harder the spring otherwise it wouldnt carry the current along with larger contact faces on the clamp

A very good tip I read on this forum is to just use a short section of chunky copper wire in the standard (cheap) croc clip.

I t works very well and is free
