I was thinking this too campatibly! The paints I'm using are all 2k, Jawel-basecoat mixed to my choice of colour 50/50 mix ratio. The primer is Kapci high build with hardner 4.1&15% thinners. The body filler I used was U-pol easy one, could compatibly be an issue with these? Also i will be using Omi-Cron clearcoat tho it's not been used yet..

Looks like some sort or reaction to the substrate, the solvent in your basecoat is reacting with whatever is beneath

if it's only a small area, possibly on the feather edging beneath, you can apply the base coat in very light 'dry' coats which means that the solvents dry before absorbing.

If that doesn't work you may have to use some form of isolator coat

what did you mix your filer on. if it was cardboard or plastic you sometimes get a silicon type reaction with paint i had this happen a few times until an old boy professional told me to use a dedicated board for mixing filler. i know its a long shot but I've never had a problem since

It was a small area that was affected it could be possable I was too heavy with the coats on the repair area? I'm thinking now I could have done very light coats to start with..ahwell I will know when I get round to doing the other side see if the something happens then. I mixed the body filler on a ply board thinking this would be ok & free from containments! Cheers for the replys on possibilities guys

Looks like you sorted your paint problem. I work for a paint company and while I specialise in my own paints it looks like it was some kind of surface tension problem caused by contamination. Also, most 2k primers need to be overcoated in 24-48 hours to ensure crosslink polymerisation of the primer and the next layer (although you'll normally get away with denibbing before the next application.
All too late now but glad you've sorted it, looks like a beast!

Yeh I got the problem with the paint sored, sanded it down with 800grit then I gave it light coats over with basecoat. Just waiting on warmer weather to start painting fully

Did you use water to sand down the filler ?

It looks to me like you didn't flash the first coat off enough and has been applied to thickly.

It looks a good project.

Yeh that's a possibility with the flash time, no I dry sanded it down all the prep work has worked out well.Cheers it's a project I'll be glad to have finished ready for summer
