another 16 amp socket question

hi all, just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction here, in my garage/workshop i have a consumer unit? with a 32 amp mcb supplying a single 13amp socket via heavy duty cooker cable. I would like to change this socket to a 16amp socket like this

to enable me to run my clarke 151 mig welder off it, also a 40amp plasma cutter i have recently purchased (not at the same time) as if i use the plasma cutter at full power it sometimes blows the fuse in the 13amp plug i have it fitted with at the moment.
Does this sound the way to go? all and any advice gratefully accepted.

it will be ok to change the single socket to the 16 amp one as its wired direct in 6.omm cable. just down rate the 32 amp mcb to a 16 amp one as that is the max current of the socket

Why not just fit a 32 amp one, for the difference in price ??

I fitted a 32amp socket with rotary isolator and rcd on a 32amp d rated mcb.

the welder probably isnt rated at 32 amps its 16 amp a c type breaker is recomended not a d type. there mainly used in industry

thanks for the replies, the reason i was going to go for the 16 amp socket is i beleive the pins on the 32 amp ones are bigger?? we have a caravan which i sometimes need to connect to the mains and use an adaptor at the moment, if i had a 16 amp socket i could plug direct into that as i think the caravans socket and extension is 16amp also.
if i want to make a short extesion to use with welder and cutter to enable me to use them at other side of garage (about 4 mts) what size of cable would be needed?
