If you have a Youtube account, you have a Google account. Google have quite a few services which require being a registered user. Feedburner?, Gmail, Webmaster tools etc.

go to the main google page top right hand corner click sign in and away you go

If you are concerned about it that much then use an incognito window. Nothing is tracked then.

I've a Google acc. my Nexus Phone is syn'd with it. I was a bit sceptical about it at first but it automatically uploads pictures and new contacts to my private* acc Saves me having to write down telephone numbers if I was to lose my phone



*time will tell I guess
