Welding Aluminium Tubing

I'm about to make a trolley to wheel my fishing tackle box, going to make it out of aluminium tubing, which I have never welded before, is there anything in particular I should know about doing this job? Any information would be greatly appreciated

Do you have a tig with ac capabilitiy

I'm gonna be honest here, the last time I used our TIG set was nearly 18 months ago, and we have had a new set since then. We hardly ever use TOG where I work simply because most of the job are maintenance jobs on the line or mild steel fab jobs. I am off now for the next two weeks. Does it have to have AC capability

OK, if you don't know you need AC to weld Ali. Then I would be doing a lot of practice, before trying to weld a finished piece, especially a tube.

Well the ac current is what breaks up the oxide layer on aluminium and I think I composes of dcen and dcep I'm only an apprentice so someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's the dcep that breaks it up how thick is this tubing aswell?

I have few lengths of 15mm DIA 2mm thick, the trolley won't carry any weight above 10k so its just for comfort purposes mainly.

as has been said ,think yer gonna need a fair bit of practice before having a go at thin ali tube with tig.

thanks tig man aza I will check it out. I was planning on practicing before attempting a finished piece of course but there were hinge that I do mot know about welding aluminium, in the industry I work in we do not weld it so I was not trained.
