Size W Argon contents

Hi All,

Just curiosity really.
I see various rent free argon deals on here, X pounds deposit and Y pounds for a Z litres refill etc,
and just wondered how many litres there are in a BOC size W cylinder.
I rent one, and use about 3 to 4 refills a year so that's £500 ish that I pay.
I just assume that for this amount of argon it's the cheapest way to go?

It would be nice to know.

i have a w size cylinder, it hold something like 12600 ltrs IIRC. if you use a lot of gas then boc is cheaper, the rent free jobs are great for low users, even if you only use 1 w size a year it is a LOT cheaper, i did work it all out, it is something like 0.5 ppl compares to 1.5-3 ppl for various rent free cylinders, and the boc price is including the rental charge as well.
biggest drewback with a w size cylinder is moving the damn thing round, when full it is 85 kg.....

You could check with your local HSS as some refill W size for a lot less than BOC, You need a BOC bottle.

If they are asking you to provide a BOC bottle they must be getting them filled by BOC

Does it matter ??? It's around £25 cheaper and you don't have to pay bottle rental if you already have one

It doesn't matter in the least, was just pointing out that HSS don't fill the cylinders as wrongly stated

I don't know as I don't watch but you get the same bottle back as you gave them. I couldn't care less who fills them to be honest.
