Not if you use stainless wire.
It will almost certainly rust if you make it in an environment which is normally used for mild steel work. You either need to treat it when it's finished or make it in a genuinely clean environment. Using 316 instead of 304, for example, will help, but will cost more.

How well does it look without gas welding with Stainless wire? or does it need gas welding?
Stainless doesnt like Chlorides.........Salt is Sodium Chloride
Keep it away from chlorine for a few days so it can passivate itself or help it by washing it in some weak acid Citric will do it.....even Vinegar.
and like has been said dont contaminate it with Iron / mild steel..........can form ferric chloride and that will really attack it

So can one of you guys give me a quick run down on prep on ,say welding 2 pieces of stainless i.e sheet or 5mm bar,using the mig with stainless wire.
Also how do you treat the weld when its finished as astro_al mentioned
Allthough ive got nothing planned as yet for the above ^^^ i just want to save myself some trouble for the future.

also dont de-spatter with a steel cutting tool-that too will leave dragging marks.Not so stainless it seems!

Cripes.. I weld SS with a mig. Also use dedicated cutting and flap discs. Stuff for cleaning is pickle. Used to buy from Wurth, be aware it is nasty stuff, so full protection. Flourique acid is a real heath risk, can dissolve glass.
Also used to weld SS with stainless sticks, def need the pickle after, or it always shows rust stains.
When I was offered an insurance job on a boat, I justified an inverter scratch TIG, paid for easily from the work. Mostly ( after the first job) I used it for stick weld, even on SS.

Glad you asked mate, i'll be making an exhaust system for my hotrod.
This will be stainless,i have only got a mig, so what wire, what type
of wire.

316L wire is the stuff for corrosion risk situations. 304 a bit cheaper. What is the tube?

Its called HYDROFLOURIC ACID (HF) here and its very very dangerous. Youre right about glass but it does bone as well.
I bleieve you need a license to buy it here, even then I woulkd stay well clear.
I have bought pickling paste from online welding suppliers and no-one ever asked if I had a licence. It's definitely the same stuff - mentions hydrofluoric acid loudly on the label. I wear protective gear when using it and it still makes me very nervous.
I remember being told as a student, when we were using it to make semiconductor devices in the lab, that the difference between hydrofluoric acid and other acids is that other acids stop when they reach the bone...
