My wifes mini on homemade Rotisserie

Hi there just a few pics of ongoing mini project on Rotisserie/Spit I made last year.
The Spit is adjustable for height and centre of mass to make spinning car easy and safe. I am not good at getting under cars anymore so this make it a lot easier.
I dont get to the computer that often but will reply to messages as soon as I can.
I dont know if this has been posted in the correct place if not I am sorry and would it be possible to move it to the right one

Makes it all so much easier, best thing I did when I restored my mini shell.

Mine was a bit more bodged together than that, I had some old tube lying around so made it out of that!

What engine you going to be running, that aint no mini subframe

Hmm engine mounts suggest a vaux or Suzuki/Micra, I'm doing a Honda mini at the moment. Just got my tig to start modifying the inlet to clear the bulkhead! Rotisserie looks very handy!!

Cheers guys am fitting a small block vauxhall engine 1400 to keep in the low tax bracket. 5 speed box and 5 main bearing crank is so much better than mini engine. Its a shame because I love mini engines but there are better units out there now. Going to run on carb again to keep it simple.
Rotisserie allows me to adjust the centre of balance so car can be rotated with one hand , may modify the horizontal mounts that go to the chassis as at the moment they can twist slightly with the weight of the car.
will post a few more close ups of the rotisserie when I can

just out of interest, do people stick 1.4zetec ford engines into mini's? they have a load more oomph than vhall ones

I made a pattern of the end of the original heel board from sheet steel with 5/16 holes drilled where the original mounts were extending the pattern inward towards centre of the car .
I then bolted pattern to mounting holes. Then drilled two holes through the pattern into the heel board so it could be riveted in place later.
I will post pics when I have taken some

Not that I know of I think it has something to do with the location of drive shafts but do not quote me !

just wandered thats all, those se or zetec lumps rev stupidly high. Iv been in a mates 1.25 zetec fiesta with a hot cam kit, exhaust and panel filter and it kept up with a 1.8 new shape celica. his fiesta revved to 7000rpm!

Pretty sure the Zetec is too tall, it's also quite a big engine and heavy engine compared to the vaux lumps.
