Simple answer, NO!

I think Adrian Flux is good but could be cheaper. What gets me is were in a recession and things keep going up! madness

For the record i have always shopped around, certainly the last 20 yrs.

Stay with same insurance company and the price will rise, discounts are given to get you on board.

Those comparison sites, well they dont lie but there may be additions to the policy, caught me out a few months back, devious swines.
Now if you decide to go direct to the insurance co cutting out the additional middle man, its dearer!
Another mention when trying out these online best quotes, your details are usually held and sold on certainly when you dont use the service. Worst of the lot a national weekly car paper the only time i let details go so know its them, 3 spams a day turns in to 9 within two months, in turn 81 a day thereafter, just keeps escalating.

This is true, i use a second email address that i give out to idiot companies then they can send as much as they want! takes a few minutes to set up and all i do is quickly scan over whats good or not then delete the rest.

So whats the best jobs to put down?

Cheapest 15 years ago i found was Estimator £375 Fully Comp Protected NCB, unlimited mileage and more importantly unlimited horse power with a muther turbo etc. I was paying more than that for an XR2.

Does Leisure Industry really work rather than put in Engineering which there wont be a section for.

Any trade that you might do homers. Will increase the premium. Also they will load based on area and estimated income

What about 3rd PFT sometimes being more expensive than comp, whats that about ?

The only insurance company I've used that deserves a mention is A Plan. Good service, polite, professional and premiums in the ballpark if not always the cheapest.

was accident assessor for a while with a large national automotive consultant company, and having dealt with insurance co's came to a conclusion. They're all a bunch of Bxxxxxds; get it in your heads, they're not there for your benefit, they're there for their greedy shareholders. When hot hatches first came around, cost of covers increased as claims for/from young drivers increased, as you would expect, but at a greater rate than the increase of covers. So when the number of covers went down, cos youngsters couldn't afford them, shareholders moaned like hell at loss of dividend, so down came premiums again. and so it goes on. Compare the cost for a youngster to insure a 998cc mini cooper vs a golf gti. With regard to variables etc, likelihood of theft or accident, cost of repairs etc, the mini is just as expensive! I just checked!!
Ok, so a youngster contacts Adrian Flux, whose very good with me, he finds they're not interested in under 25's.Insurance co's are as good as the government in farming money from us. I'm totally distrust the lot of them.

Right,heres my story,i've been with my last insurance lot for 3 years,just kept on renewing it as the increase each year wasn't that much.
Last september gone my renewal went from £23pm-£34pm,WTF
so got on to them with "why the big hike"? Got fed the usual bull blah blah blah.
So went on that site with the meerkat,put exactley the same details in,up it pops........WHOS at the top of the list with a monthly repayment of only £21pm.......yer,the same company
Back on the phone again
"OI,why have you that price yet quote me more"?
"because your an existing customer and that offer is only for new customers".
"thats ball locks"
"sorry sir thats the way it is".
Right next plan,i found this way around it,the same day it expires ring them up in the morning and say please dont renew my insurance i want to cancel it i'm going elsewhere,once they've finished with the bull they try and give you,hang up.
Now wait till just before midnight when it runs out,go back online get that cheap quote up and apply,i got it and was covered straight away as a new customer fully comp for £21pm,up your's

I've heard of a few people doing that - you'd think the insurance companies would have sussed it. I suppose they'd only get stroppy at the time of claim, there's bound to something in the terms & conditions.

Can this not be insured as a classic car now? My P reg 90 County has just scraped through the 15 year barrier and was under £150 to insure fully comp with 4 drivers and no milage restrictions

Only if I have another more modern car, I do have a 6k milage limit on it as well, but dont forget a couple of yrs ago I wrote off a M reg disco into the side of a mercon black ice.
Police said it was a 50/50 but my insurance company admitted liability, as I was the only one moving at the time (idiots) as there were mitigating circumstances that they seemed to ignore.

I had never bothered with breakdown cover until last year, then joined the AA.
Then the renewal this year was almost double the price !! My response was to call them and ask why. Got the stock, the online price is for new customer ballax. So I asked why existing customers were less important or valuable to the AA. The nice young lady struggled to answer that one !! So I said that unless I get the same price as a new customer I would cancel and go to a competitor. My member ship was renewed at the new member price !
I guess I'll need to go through the same thing next year though

That's what I do every year! I normally cancel the DD after they have taken the first years so I don't forget

I would have thought a new member would be a greater risk than an existing one. If someone already has a broken motor they might join to get it home.

Each and every year I have to phone the AA so they can reduce my breakdown premium to match the online price.Last time I asked if they minded doing it and the person on the other end said no just phone up each year!

If I remember right I read about a guy talking about when he changed his corsa for a toyota Hiace his insurance was cheaper even tho it was 2 litre as opposed to 1 litre
so how about putting a bed and mini wardrobe and calling it a motor home
