scrap price for landrover alloys?

Can anyone tell me what the rough price a scrap dealer would pay for a Landrover discovery alloy (ie more substancial than car alloys) I have at least 12 of them sat here with no tyres on and wondering what to do with them!

They are all the "proppeler" type or Rangerover 3 spokes, no one wants them these days just wondered if its worth my while pulling all the tyres off them and weighing them in as nearest srapyard is 40 mins from me.

The last lot of ally I took in was at 600 quid a ton, down from 750 a week before, I took in the sheets from an old horse trialer I have broken up, 44kilos 26 quid, just about paid for the diesel and plasters....
I took some wheels last yr (old disco wheels) and they weighed approximately 12 kilos each and ally was near 1200 a ton so did quite well, some scrappies will pay a better price for cast ally as opposed to sheet.
It is worth ringing round your local yards, but it seems to me around here anyway the price is dropping like a stone, got some parts delivered for my disco this week wrapped in a local paper and up country, they are paying 180-200 a tonne for farm scrap, cars 130, down here mixed iron is more like 135 and cars 115, so it is not all a bed of roses in the garden of England.

I would keep 5 of the very best, of them if you can, as they are not that popular at the MOMENT, but as more get scrapped and the range rover classic becomes more of a restorers vehicle (which they are becoming), those wheels could be like gold dust in a few yrs.
Remember what happened to the SJ410, 414 rhino etc, at one time you could not get them to the scrappy quick enough, now they are HIGHLY sought after for offroading etc.
Had I kept the 4 or 5 I ran into the scrappy yrs ago, I could be a few quid better off, but I would not have had the pleasure of squashing the horrible little critters with the tractor.....

I have six good spare 300tdi engines and a couple of 200's I`m struggling to find space for which are more use to me than the grotty old wheels!

its a land rover thing! i currently have three engines and 1 land rover!

got 9 g/boxes 5t/boxes and 11 engines not to mention axles and other bits.

In the last year I`ve scrapped 2x 300tdi 90`s, 4x 300tdi discos, a 200tdi disco, 200tdi 110 and just got a 200tdi 90 MOT fail the other week. They were either ones we had at work for towing that or local ones which came to the end of thier life, The most I've ever paid was £350 or the 110 and that was because I needed the hicap back and cab. I do the odd bit of Landrover work and they always end up with me in the end, infact Ive got another 300 90 coming in tommorow with chassis rot to see whether it is worth welding up.

Unfortunatly I'm planning on keeping all the 300 engines as I've a 98 300tdi 90 on a galv chassis and a 110 hicap I'm putting on a galv chassis untilising various parts of the above selection, and my parents also have a 300 90CSW so can never have enough spares.

All the alloys are pretty scowled up so not much good for anything.

Well I weighed in four disco alloys and got £10 each for them so I'll weigh the rest in when I get chance to pull the tyres off!
