has anyone been on google earth street view . big brother is watching anyone know how they map it out as there taken from ground level

cars with a post & cameras on the roof, drive round, take pics

Mapping is done by transposing images with gps & map data

They drove virtually every road in the country in specialist cars with cameras mounted on the roof.

That's the one; seen it a few times. However I live in a cul-de-sac and the car drives in about two lengths, stops and backs out again so you can't get a good look at my pad
Similarly, our lass lives up a long private driveway that the car has to drive straight past.

so my grandad told me they drive around with a three cammeras mounted on the roof of the car he was walking the dog and they drove past they blank faces out as well

Been here for many years on Google maps and earth. My house and street have been on streetview fro almost 5 years.

Used to be places like TheRegister used to show links to map views of obvious drug deals, kids falling off bicycles etc.

I dont know what its like round your way, but the satellite view here is about 5+ years out of date.

So how is Big Brother watching? Software is programmed to blur out faces and numberplates. What else is there to hide? You can't really complain about Google doing it. 'MultiMaps' (now microsoft bing) has been doing satellite maps for 10yrs+

It's very useful if you're not sure on what junctions are like and don't have satnav.

when the councill come round and ask about your outbuildings that have recently been built and u tell em they have been there years and they know diffrent and also ministry of agriculture can count the sheep in your fields and see what set aside u are claming for thats if that isnt big brother what is not that i care that much cos my extension and garage have been up 12 years without permish

They've bee using satellite to check on farmers for a while now, and so they should. Why the hell they should be paid for not using part of their land is beyond me. If i don't use part of my workshop do I get paid money. NO. If I don't use part of my workshop do I get a Rate rebate. NO. If I make a loss because my company is crap at what it does, or I make a loss. Do I get paid the difference NO.

The bloody farmers do. So any method they can use to make sure they are not claiming for more than they are entitled to Is all good news to me
