I have a mig 130 gas welder, when I was using it today the wire feed continued to feed out after the trigger was released and could only be stopped by turning off the power.
Can anyone tell me the possible cause and how to fix it?.

check the switch contacts in the torch head might be worn or sticking

Did the arc die when you released the trigger? If so the trigger is OK and the fault will most likely be on the motor control board.

Best thing to do when you start to look at fault (tomorrow?) would be to release the wire feed roller pressure so when you do switch on it's not going to be spewing wire out, but if fault is still present then you should still hear the motor running. (see another recent thread "things they don't tell you" has to do with allowing wire togo loose on spool!). Possible causes sticking relay or contactor (the thing that makes a clunk when trigger is pressed), and as mentioned before transistor/triac stuck on on controller pcb, trigger switch. If it workes ok in the morning it could be an intermittent fault otherwise known as a pain in the a** to track down. Keep us posted. Take care when working inside m/c Mains Kills..
