Just looked at the link and OMG I love the easy rider special!!!!! Without a doubt the best sculpture I have ever seen! I am so going to teach myself how to make one.

That's pretty cool! I have no idea how they can sell them so cheap though?

Horrible mass produced tat, so cheap because it is made in a factory in Thailand.
Revolting stuff.
I bet a lot of the components are laser cut in panels.

everyone to there own but it looks tacky id rather see stuff that chunko has designed and made up which is more creative and a lot of thought has gone in to it

Have I been a bad influence on you guys?
A mate of mine was offered the chance to be a franchisee for this stuff a few years ago, his was Thailand sourced, figures of Predator and Alien etc, this looks like a development of this stuff. I have to ask who would want the Viking Gods on that scale in that style in their homes.
My guess they have a design team and a shed full of talented guys knocking this out to a formula.
Might even be Chinese.
I get lots of offers from factories in China to make my stuff for me, they are able to work from a sketch or a full drawing. I see a lot of this kind of stuff for sale by 'artists' based in England who I reckon must be paying themselves about 50p an hour.

They must dismantle an incredible amount of trucks. To be able to supply an unlimited amount of this that and the other part on demand.

There is so much of this recycled sculpture around that it debases the good stuff, I see it and go 'oh yeah' then 'Omigod' when I see the good stuff.
Here is a good example of quality recycled metal sculpture, made of a few years worth of rejected shear blades from a factory.

I agree Chunko, It's certainly mass produced but I like the style and it reminds me of Damascus steel, with loads of surface patterns and interesting details. It's a completely different thing to the fine-art metal sculpture that clearly takes more time and skill!

I don't think it debases the good stuff myself. It clearly sells but to a different market. I have Goodwood Sculpture park up the road and would doubt that I'd see anything like this there. I would, however see the Mercedes at Goodwood festival of speed!

And doing that to the Merc' even a mock one is a criminal act.
The Gullwing merc is the sexiest car ever.

Lift to the Scaffold, beautiful couple steal car, kill cops and go on the rampage in France in a gull wing merc, mid 1950's.
Miles Davis saw the film one night, next day he took a scratch band and inprovised the soundtrack in one take. Maybe the most perfect music ever made.
The plot does sound familiar but I think this was the first one.

a lot of the parts seem to be motorcycle chain and sprockets, fork springs and brake pads with the lining removed.

all gets a bit samey after a while
