Cebora Stag 196 Mig Welder

Can anyone tell me if this is a good welder and how much you have had to pay to buy a new one ?

Great thanks. I am glad you said that as I just picked up a really good nick one for £350. I think that is a good price?

Sounds ok, I paid £500 20 odd years ago, I don't know if they still make a 196 Stag, things have moved on a fair bit.

I think I could do with someone who knows their stuff having a look over it.

It came with a reel and 100% argon gas cylinder, but whilst it welds ok, it does not feel smooth.

I think it could be the reel is old and I am not sure what 100% argon is like to weld with?

That will be your problem then, pure argon tends to be quite spluttery to use with mig, the welds will be cold in appearance and taller in profile than when using an argon co2 mix.

Just need to work out where I can get the cylinder changed?
